F.A.R.M. Tests the Runway!

While F.A.R.M. continues to reach many parts of the world, it has not yet rocked its own locality until recently.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region V recognized F.A.R.M. as a homegrown product and featured it, along with other products, in an Ec0-Fashion Fair, held from July 30 to August 1, 2009 at the Emall in Naga City, Philippines. ABS-CBN co-sponsored the event.

DTI selected a few entrepreneurs who create wearable, environment-friendly crafts and showcased them in a live mannequin show. This is a way of introducing and promoting eco-friendly alternatives to fashionistas in the Bicol region.

F.A.R.M. stood out because of its unique advocacy on artful recycling. Who would think that the gorgeous accessories featured on the runway are made out of old and discarded buttons?

F.A.R.M. creator and designer Bernadette de los Santos, who donned her models with both colorful and neutral-toned F.A.R.M. accessories, said the experience reinforced her faith that there are government agencies that really do their jobs well.

Bernadette said the successful affair helped a lot in increasing people's awareness and curiosity for F.A.R.M. and other products in the region, as well as principles these creations speak of.

The F.A.R.M. booth was surrounded by curious people. And the event opened a lot of opportunities for F.A.R.M. in the future. This is something we need to watch out for.

F.A.R.M. acknowledges our fellow Baaoeno Jay Ablan of DTI for giving us this big break. DTI also invited F.A.R.M. to join the Orgullo kan Bikolano Trade Fair at SM Megamall in October 2009.

F.A.R.M. thanks ABS-CBN and the pretty young models for making F.A.R.M. shine brighter!

And thank you dear F.A.R.M.ers for your selfless support to F.A.R.M.
